Football: Reading Defeat Burnley 1-0 in FA Cup 2010 Fourth Round

By ; published on January 23, 2010 at 3:15 pm

Championship have defeated their second Premier League opponent in this season’s FA Cup by knocking out . Reading won 1-0 at home with a Gylfi Sigurdsson goal in the final minutes of the match.

The tie looked to be heading for a replay before the Icelandic player rolled his shot into the bottom corner on 87 minutes.

Burnley will rue their failure to convert superior chances into goals, however, and Reading will thank their Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici who made a number of fine saves in either half en route to this second ‘giant-killing’ in a row,  after they defeated Liverpool in a Third Round replay.
