Birmingham climbed out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone courtesy of a point from their away match at Everton, coming as a result of a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on the evening of Wednesday 9th March 2011.
It could have been three points for Birmingham, for they took the lead through Beausejour after 17 minutes, though Everton soon replied through a 35th minute Heitinga goal.
The visitors will be happy to be returning from Merseyside with a point, however, as, once level, Everton dominated possession, and had the lion’s share of the shots on target.
Everton move up to 9th place in the league, though will be a little disappointed not to have found the net once more from a match in which they enjoyed the better of the play. Birmingham, who clung on for a point, move up to 17th place, the last ‘safe’ position in the table.
