Football: Barclays Premier League Results 6-7 November 2010

The weekend saw plenty of Barclays Premier League football action, as all twenty sides were involved on Saturday 6th or Sunday 7th November 2010.

There were a number of surprise results, though, not least the continuing resurgence of Liverpool, who defeated league leaders and holding Champions, Chelsea, 2-0 at Anfield.

Another London club, Arsenal, saw their title challenge falter a little as they went down 0-1 at home to a spirited Newcastle side. Andy Carroll scored the only goal of the match for the visitors en route to a welcome Premier League success. The score sees the Magpies move into fifth place in the league in their comeback season, having been promoted from the Championship in the summer.

Manchester United and Man City both recorded the only wins of the top four clubs this weekend, with United leaving it very late to defeat the much improved Wolves at Old Trafford. Wolverhampton manager Mick McCarthy looked devastated as he saw his men go down 2-1 to a Park brace – the final goal coming 4 minutes into stoppage time.
