Germany coach Joachim Loew has named his 23 man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The squad has been severely hit by injuries, not least the injury to captain Michael Ballack who picked up an ankle injury playing in Chelsea’s FA Cup victory, and will now be captained by UEFA Champions League runner-up Phillip Lahm.
Germany also lost Christian Traesch, Simon Rolfes and Rene Adler to injury.
Germany will line up in Group D against Australia, Ghana and Serbia.
