European Union Expands Sanctions Against Russia

The Council of the European Union has expanded the number of people subject to targeted sanctions in relation to the situation in Ukraine.

The EU’s Foreign Affairs Council agreed the move on 14th April 2014 and the Council of the European Union adopted the measures on Monday 28th April 2014.

A travel ban and freeze on assets within the European Union have been applied to 15 more people “for actions undermining Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence”.
