Entertainment: Jonathan Ross Quits BBC

on his Friday Night Show

Jonathan Ross has today announced that he is to quit the BBC.

The comic presents his own “Friday Night with Jonathan Ross” show on the BBC’s flagship BBC One channel also hosts a Radio 2 show and his own film review program for the Corporation.

Ross leaving will mark the end of a 13 year association.

In a statement, Ross told:

“Although I have had a wonderful time working for the BBC, and am very proud of the shows I have made while there, over the last two weeks I have decided not to re-negotiate when my current contract comes to an end.”

The star claims that the decision was “not financially motivated” and that “no negotiations ever took place” regarding a new contract.

It remains to be seen what project Ross has in mind for the future.
