Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011 will see hundreds of improvisation troupes take to venues around the city and provide truly original stand-up comedy for crowds of tourists. Improvisation is a great opportunity to see guaranteed fresh performances as well as supporting up and coming acts.
These comedians from Stirling University will be taking to the stage just 15 minutes from Waverley Station in the Scottish capital in August 2011:
“The Improveteers, quite straightforwardly, take audience suggestions and transform them into comedic scenes for your amusement. It’s short-form improv comedy in its purest and simplest form. Formed in 2008, the Improveteers have been honing their craft and are now ready to bring their own brand of improvised hilarity to the Edinburgh Free Festival! Every show is different and every show is free as our talented troupe of performers play silly games and act out bizarre scenarios to entertain the masses. No gimmicks. No USPs. No fancy light shows or video technology. Just good old-fashioned laugh-out-loud improv comedy.”
