Cricket: England Take First Twenty20 Against Australia With Dramatic Last Ball Victory

England, fresh from their 2010/2011 Ashes success, have won the opening Twenty20 match against Australia in Adelaide in dramatic style, clinching victory in the very last ball with a four from Chris Woakes.

Australia, who recorded 157-4, looked on course to defend that score, though England’s last gasp victory means they are now T20 World Record holders, having recorded an impressive eight successive victory in the shortened format.

Shane Watson, for the hosts, who hit 59 runs from 31 balls before taking 4 English wickets for 15 runs from his four overs, will perhaps be the most disappointed of the Australians, not least as the winning runs came from his final delivery.

England will be full of confidence, having grabbed this entertaining and record breaking victory, ahead of the next T20 match in the MCG on Friday, 14th January 2011.
