Commonwealth Games: Australia Takes Gold at the Women’s Pole Vault

Australia took gold this morning in the women’s pole vault final. Alana Boyd completed a season’s best of 4.40m to take the top spot at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. She said of the competition: “Of course I’d loved to have jumped 4.55 but hey, I got a medal so I couldn’t have asked for anything more”. The results of the final were as follows:

  • Alana Boyd – Australia - 4.40m
  • Marianna Zachariadi – Cyprus - 4.40m
  • Kate Denison – England - 4.25m
  • Carly Dockendorf – Canada - 4.25m
  • Kelsie Hendry – Canada - 4.25m
  • Amanda Bisk – Australia - 4.25m
  • Emma Jane Lyons – England - 4.10m
  • Gabriella Duclos-Lasnier – Canada - 4.10m
  • Sally Peake – Wales - 3.95m
  • Roslinda Samsu – Malaysia - 3.95m
  • Liz Parnov – Australia - 3.95m
  • Bryony Sian Raine – Wales - 3.80m
  • Henrietta Paxton – Scotland - NM

The pole vault women’s medal ceremony will take place at 20:25 on Tuesday 12th October 2010.
