Bananagram has taken the cast of Downton Abbey by storm. Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary, revealed this week that the cast have been playing the board game in between scenes to keep their minds fresh:

“Bananagrams is a bit like Scrabble. Tom Cullen (who plays Lord Gillingham) brought it with him and we all love it. It sort of keeps your brain alive between set ups. Pretty much everyone’s playing.”

When asked who the greatest Bananagram player is, Dockery unveiled Maggie Smith as the top wordsmith among the players:

“Maggie’s very good. And Laura’s very good. Me? I get good days and bad days.”

Unlike Scrabble, a hand of Bananagram can be played in around five minutes. The table-top game is available from Amazon.
