Asbel Kiprop claimed a gold medal for Kenya in the final of the Men’s 1500m race at the World Championships in Moscow.

Running a confident and dominant race, the 24 year-old defending champion (and 2008 Olympic champion) completed the course in 3:36.28.

Kiprop’s team mate Mixon Kiplimo Chepseba led the pack for much of the race before being beaten out of medal position by Johan Cronje of South Africa.
